Chris Carr is a senior associate and project manager with Newmarket Partners, LLC. Having held senior level management and operations positions in metals manufacturing, capital equipment, and automotive industries, he has accumulated the skill set to address a spectrum of operational issues. Chris has demonstrated capabilities executing operational turnarounds by identifying pragmatic strategic solutions, providing focused leadership and the tactical insight necessary to implement sustainable change.
Prior to joining Newmarket, Chris served as President and Chief Operating Officer of a $35 Million privately held metals business providing stamping, casting, forging, wire forming, and machining operations to industrial clients. As President and COO Chris grew sales by 13.2% and doubled profits over a two-year period, after having completed the turnaround of one of the Company’s ailing divisions.
Chris also served as President of a Canadian manufacturer of automotive accessories with full profit and loss responsibility for the operation. During his tenure, he increased sales by 36% and 27% in two successive years and increased EBITDA from 3% to 7% over the same period. Over this time, the company was successful in introducing new products, improving marketing and distribution logistics, enhancing service, increasing manufacturing productivity, and achieving QS certification (the automotive version of ISO 9000).
As CEO and President of a $150 Million heavy equipment manufacturer with worldwide operations, Chris successfully developed and implemented a turnaround that reversed a $35 Million loss to a $2 Million profit and resulted in a successful sale of the company.
Chris’s early career experience in plant management, operations management, and manufacturing engineering leveraged his engineering strengths while providing opportunities to manage people and build teams.
