Samuel S. Hartwell

Samuel S. HartwellMr. Hartwell is a partner in Newmarket Partners, LLC. He is a general management specialist focused on helping healthy and troubled clients address a broad range of operational, organizational, and financial issues. His professional focus is on turnaround and crisis management, including strategy, sales and marketing, operations, and financial management. Working with clients, Mr. Hartwell excels at creating and identifying high leverage solutions to a range of problems.

Mr. Hartwell has served a broad range of industries with a focus on manufacturing, including steel manufacturing and service centers, automotive supply and aftermarket, furniture, housewares, metalworking, packaging, health care, retail gasoline, industrial controls, food processing, and durable medical equipment. His clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to small, family-owned and entrepreneurial clients and the Federal Government.

Prior to joining Newmarket, Mr. Hartwell led a major brand reorganization, repositioning and relaunch of the Stearns & Foster unit of Sealy, Inc, including facilities and sales force rationalization, pricing and channel rationalization, and product redevelopment. Prior to joining Sealy, Mr. Hartwell served in the Cleveland and Brussels offices of McKinsey & Co, and the Cleveland office of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. At McKinsey, Mr. Hartwell served a variety of primarily industrial companies with a focus on strategic planning and marketing. At Booz, Allen Mr. Hartwell focused on manufacturing and operational restructuring.

Personal

Mr. Hartwell is married with three children, and resides in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He is fully conversant in French, and enjoys distance running.
